From Teen Coach to Parent Support—Why the Shift?

For a few years, I’ve worked directly with teenagers, offering coaching to help them manage anxiety, build confidence, and develop emotional resilience. But over time, I noticed something important: teenagers don’t actually need a lot of input from people like me. What they do need are practical, empowering resources—and, most importantly, parents who feel supported, informed, and confident.
That’s when I began to shift my focus. Because when a parent is equipped with the right tools, strategies, and understanding, it doesn’t just help the teen—it transforms the entire relationship.
I’ve seen it professionally, and I’ve experienced it personally. When I was a teenager, my own mother took a parenting course. Her whole approach to me changed. I felt more accepted for who I truly was, and that acceptance created safety. I knew I could talk to her—even about the harder things. That one change had a huge, lasting impact on our relationship.
Now, I want to help you create that same deep bond and connection with your teenager. Not by changing who they are—but by giving you the support and insight to show up for them in a way that truly lands.

Why is being a teenager so difficult and why are the adolescent years such a challenge to navigate at times? We automatically jump to blame the avalanche of hormones that start to hit us when puberty begins but hormones are literally only the tip of the iceberg. There is much more going on than initially meets the eye. Brain development, bodily development, identity development and finding your place within society, all in the limbo that is adolescence – a teenager is caught between childhood and adulthood with a wide variety of expectations and limitations still at play.
Parenting a teenager today can feel like navigating emotional landmines. One moment they need you, the next they push you away. You try your best, but it can feel like nothing lands. The truth is, you’re not doing anything wrong—it’s just that this phase of life is intense for everyone involved.
Teens are facing overwhelming pressure—socially, emotionally, and globally. They’re growing fast and trying to figure out who they are, all while being constantly bombarded by the noise of the world. In that chaos, your support can be the anchor they don’t even know they need.

You can read all the Personal Development books and do all the courses you want, ultimately though, you are the one that makes those changes and puts those tips and skills, you have learned, in place. As your Life Coach, I will be here to guide, support and encourage you to make the most of everything life has to offer!
