About Sarah

My name is Sarah Filan. I am a Stress and Trauma Recovery Therapist and Personal Development Teacher. I help people to get to find the root of stress and challenges they may be facing in their daily lives which more often than not are caused by past traumas that have not been healed or processed. I also teach Personal Development tools and techniques to reduce stress, anxiety, worry and other uncomfortable emotions, nervous system regulation, effective communication and setting healthy boundaries.

My passions in life are Personal Development, Holistic Healing and Education. I also love everything to do with Mind, Body and Spirit. My biggest goal among many is to live a happy and fulfilling life by utilising creativity and my fullest potential!

I have lived in Cork for most of my life and it is one of my most favourite cities. I love the food, the restaurants, the buzzing atmosphere and the culture. In 2013, when I qualified as a Primary Teacher, I decided to move to London to gain more independence along with professional and life experience outside of my comfort zone. I lived in London for nearly two years and it really was one of the most challenging but rewarding experiences of my life so far! I gained a wealth of experience and independence.

I set up my business in 2016 and since then I have worked tirelessly on developing my skills and experience in order to help people maximise their healing, growth and development. I have had articles published in the Cork Independent relating to Personal Development and Maternal mental and emotional health and wellbeing. I was honoured to give a key note speech at a Network Cork event which was titled – “Building Confidence in Business”. I have been a regular guest on Cork’s 96FM Opinion Line speaking about a wide range of topics such as mental/emotional health and Personal Development.

One of the most important things I have learned over time is that life is for living, I have unlimited potential, only I can make the most of my life and that is what I strive to do every day by exploring every opportunity that presents itself to me.

My work is my passion and I thrive on supporting and encouraging people to empower themselves, find a fulfilling purpose and turn inward to make changes within to see long lasting changes in their outside reality.

I founded my business with a clear and heartfelt mission: to empower people, accelerate their personal growth, and improve their mental and emotional well-being. My work is rooted in the belief that when we honour core values like awareness, authenticity, freedom, autonomy, and independence, we unlock the potential for profound transformation and a higher quality of life.

My journey has not been without challenges. I’ve faced and overcome chronic stress and trauma, and those experiences have shaped who I am today. They’ve also given me a deep sense of empathy and a wealth of lived experience that I now bring to my work. Through resilience and a fierce commitment to personal growth, I’ve carved out a dynamic and meaningful career. I understand what it means to take risks, to believe in a vision, and to trust that dedication and purpose will lead to success.

I’m passionate about helping others walk their own path of healing through personal development. This process has been life-changing for me, and I believe it holds the same potential for anyone who is ready to take even the smallest step toward positive change. No matter where someone is starting from, transformation is possible with the right support, tools, and mindset.

At the heart of everything I do is a strong belief in the human capacity to heal, grow, and thrive. I feel grateful for the adversities and challenges I’ve faced because they’ve taught me invaluable lessons—and have become the foundation of the work I now share with others. My purpose is clear: to support others in becoming the most empowered, authentic version of themselves.

My approach is both integrated and holistic, grounded in the understanding that each individual is unique and deeply complex. We begin by stepping back and looking at the bigger picture of your life, exploring where you are, what you need, and what may be holding you back. This creates a foundation from which meaningful and sustainable growth can emerge.

I tailor my work to meet each person exactly where they are. There’s no one-size-fits-all method, your journey is yours alone, and the support you receive should reflect that. I work with sensitivity and flexibility, adapting my approach to suit your personal needs, goals, and lived experience.

At the heart of my practice is a core belief: every human being is inherently resourceful, creative, and whole. You are the expert of your own life. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you, supporting you in uncovering your own truth and reconnecting with your inner strength and wisdom.

Values play a powerful role in our lives. When we are disconnected from our core values, we often feel out of alignment, out of sync with ourselves and our purpose. Stress, trauma, and unresolved emotional experiences can compound this disconnect, clouding our sense of self and our direction forward.

That’s why we begin by identifying and understanding these limiting factors, whether they’re internal patterns, past wounds, or external circumstances. From there, we gently peel back the layers to rediscover the version of you that is free, grounded, and aligned. Together, we work toward creating a life that feels authentic, empowered, and deeply meaningful.

The main Values I uphold are…

Honesty

I pride myself in my honesty and it is my top core value.

Respect

I believe respect is extremely important in every aspect of life. Respect for ourselves and respect for others.

Optimism

I greatly value optimism and even though I know at times it can be hard to be optimistic, I have many times in my life seen the value of keeping the balanced view that there is light as well as shadow in everyone and everything.

Curiosity

Curiosity drives me in all areas of life, both personal and professional, because it acts as a catalyst for building self-awareness, growth, connection, and transformation. I approach challenges with an open mind and a willingness to learn, rather than fear or resistance. I love discovering new perspectives, deeper truths, and more authentic ways of being.

Authenticity

I strive to live in alignment with and honour who I truly am—my values, emotions, needs, and beliefs—expressing with honesty and respect how I feel, rather than conforming to external expectations or roles. This allows me to live with greater integrity and inner peace. It also gives others permission to show up authentically, creating deeper, more meaningful connections. In a world that often rewards conformity, choosing authenticity is both a powerful act of self-love and a quiet form of revolution.

Compassion

Compassion for me is one of the most powerful and transformative human capacities. It goes beyond sympathy or kindness—it’s the deep recognition of suffering (in ourselves or others) combined with the desire to ease it where possible. It creates a safe and non-judgmental space where growth can truly happen. When we lead with compassion, we soften resistance, build trust, and open the door to genuine connection and healing. In personal development, recovery, and interpersonal relationships, compassion is essential for real, lasting change and healing.

Other values of mine include confidentiality, empathy, acceptance, creativity, equality, loyalty, freedom, fairness, family, kindness, consistency, friendship, love, forgiveness, trust, spirituality, non-judgement, support, security, learning and connection.
